Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, we got to get right to this. I'm
(00:01):
really excited.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
The Celebrity hotline is ringing Billy Gardell from Bob Hart's
Saba Shola on the You, also.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Mike and Molly. He was Mike, Billy Gardell is on.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Hi Billy, Hello, Melissa.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
So happy to talk to you again.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah, we talked when you were with The You, and
that was when Mike and Molly was going into syndication.
And now I'm back in Chicago because Bob Hart' Sabashola
is going into syndication, and here we are again, Here
we are again, Here we are.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
I was just thinking of how awesome people dream their
whole lives to get one show to go into syndication,
and you'll have two.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Very very blessed. We didn't. I didn't know that that
was going to happen because I thought with all the
streaming services and how everything's changed. But this little show
found its way there. And now Bob Harts is going
to syndicate and then I get to be a part
of that again. I'm very grateful.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
It does reflect your personality, obviously, it is usual.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Thanks Mike and Molly, And then you.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Go on this and you've been lucky enough to to
have cast members on both shows.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
I know that you just adore and get along.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
I did, right, I got real And that says a
lot about Chuck Lourie. You know when he casts, he casts,
like when he told me we were going to do
Mike and Molly said, I'm gonna put a great cast
around you. So I got to excel because of that.
And then in this one, I got to help my
cast and we had some veterans and some newer people,
and that chemistry came together again, just like a little family.
(01:22):
And that's why this one did so good. But I
think the commonality of both shows is it's just love.
It's about falling in love and rooting for love and
then marrying. When you marry someone, you marry their family,
and I think there's always fun in that.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I'm like literally going to cry because you are just
as nice and sweet and kind.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
You're just like an aw, yeah you're suree.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
But you know what, I think I do good in sitcoms.
The reason is because I've been married twenty three years,
so I think I know how to play that.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
You know what I mean, Billy, I was crying because
some of your comedy came up and you were talking
about your wife was pregnant and she was jonesing for ice,
craving for ice.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Oh my god, Billy, that was me.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
I was crying for some reason.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Hers was I.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
And so when I heard that, the joke became, is
the baby down there freezing going send down some shoe?
You know that's where my brain goes. She doesn't think
it's funny, but everybody else did.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I was on the floor. I was crying. It was
just so relatable. But all your comedy is relatable, all.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Right, So listen, we're talking to Billy Gardell. We just
did this contest here where a watch a listen and
win to watch Bob Heart's Aba Shola week nights at
eight and eight thirty on the You We wrapp that up,
but you guys are doing something else where. Now there's
big cash and popcorn prizes.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Again, who doesn't like cash and popcorn? I mean, if
you say cash and popcorn, you got my attention. And
then I love that they do those fun little sweet steaks.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Everybody who's watched it and called in to win already
just loved it. So again, it's at eight and eight
thirty with our friend Billy Gardell, Bob Hart's aba Schola
on the you and then you, by the way.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
That's that's the most Chicago that this title of this
show's ever been. Bobab the shola Bob Bob.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
But you, you are in Chicago and now you've hung
out with Melissa McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Your oh took plate.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Mike and Molly was a Chicago I meant to ask
you that because you're from Pittsburgh, right.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah, I'm Pittsburgh first, but I would say I'm an
honorary Chicago because, yeah, Mike, I'm from Mike and Molly
with Chicago all my ties with Melissa, and then I
actually lived here for two years when I was a
comic coming up. So I love this city.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
I know you're off to Philly to co perform. There,
get me a tasty cake and a pretzel my husband's father.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
I want to.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Wait, and then before you go, I just have to
ask you one Halloween question, just one, because we.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Were asking it. Okay, candy corner, no candy corn? What
is it for you?
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I'm old, It's candy.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
I'm old.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
See all right? I love you.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
