and let them know that they just won two hundred
and fifty dollars in their teacher Salute of the Week
and they call five for this amazing trip to the
Miami Beach Low's Hotel with our friends at Visit Florida.
All right, right now, I'm calling a second grade teacher.
Her name is Amy Wood. She there, jim Hi, Miss Wood.

How are you good? It's Melissa Foreman from ninety three
point nine light ff exciting. Okay, So Amy, I'm calling
you because we do something called a Teacher Salute every
Friday where we get emails about awesome, awesome teachers and guess.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
What, I'm guessing you got one with your name on it.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
And not only did we get one, yours is the
longest we've ever received. I'm not no, it's good this person.
So she wrote us and she did it online and
then she sent an extra because she's like, I have
to get in more about miss Amy Wood. So oh no,
it was really sweet. It's from Nancy Bussen. So I'm
gonna just read you a little bit of it. By
the way, so you're a second grade teacher Gavin Son

Elementary in Ingleside, Right.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
That is correct, twenty you're twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Wow, really that's amazing. So she said that you have
so much love for all your current and former students.
You're always so happy to hear about their accomplishments of
almost three decades of students. This includes a major League
baseball player who you see.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Oh yeah, realam the A's.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
And it says you still go to see him play.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
He let us come out on the field and everything.
It was very exciting.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Oh god him see teachers stay with you forever. I'm
gonna cry like that's the thing, right of course, you
remember yourself. I love my kids. Yeah, it says you
cheer from the sidelines. You make everything engaging. You take
a personal interest in these students, sports games, birthday parties, graduations, weddings.
You're always invited, you always show up. You are a

role model for students and fellow teachers. Sharing a hug
or a high five is a constant part of who
you are in your school day, said Amy. Wood is
truly a passionate individual who just every child to be
successful and to feel loved.

That's so incredibly sweet. I really do love my kids.
I'm a teacher that didn't get to have kids, and
so these are my babies, and I have been so
lucky to be able to watch them through the years.
I say, once you're a Misswood kid, you're always a
Miss Wood kid.

Ah, that's a serious. I'm linked in tears. Well, I
just wanted to let you know, Miss Amy Wood, that
you are this week's teachers. So loose, so neat.

That's really that super exciting actually, and I'm very very
honored and very touched.

I'm so glad. Well, this is really cool because you
get two hundred and fifty dollars, which is all that
is really cool. Yay, and you're qualified for our trip
to Miami Beach the Low's Hotel. We draw one teacher
a month and you will go with us if you're
the winner coming up. That is super exciting.

fantastic teachers, even just in this building. We work hard,
We love these kids, and we wish we could do
more for them.
