The Cop Dart

Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, Jim, what happened? You got a little storry
about some pops or something you saw online? What's that? Well?
I saw something on the news and I was like, oh,
that's kind of cool. There was two people. Oh I
think it is. Oh what you ready? So two people
were wanted in connection with the robbery and Elmhurst, and

(00:21):
these two people led the Elmhurst police on this high
speed chase to Oakbrook. Well Oakbrook. Apparently the police have
been using this for years and they have this new
technology now and they were showing it on their dash
camp where they shoot a dart at the car and
it sticks to the back of the car with GPS,

(00:42):
so they can they can stop. Yeah, so they can
stop the high speed chase and the GPS will take
them right to where they live or where their car's
going or whatever, and so they can go and signal
the other cops like hey, this is where they're going,
and blah blah blah, and the robbers think they got away.
Little do they know that the cops are at their
house sitting on their doorstep. They have a dart, like

a little dart. Did they shoot out a dart? Yes,
like a little dark where we were kids. Yes, wow,
Oh I.

Did not see that story, and you know me, I'm
up on everything.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yeah, dad, I thought it was pretty cool. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
How far is that dart shoot? I mean, if you
have a speeding car going at you, you have to.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Really be good at well. I mean, you know, I
mean when there's high speed chases. I mean usually the
cops are keeping up pretty good, but they can just
get behind. I mean, I think you can go pretty
far as long as their aim is good. And they
hit it on the car. But they showed in the
dash cab and they like shot it and it went
right on the back of the trunk and that's where
it's staying.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Wow, oh that's amazing. Wait what if they get the
wrong car and then you're just driving home from you know,
Sam's club, and then they dirt your car?

Speaker 1 (01:46):
They're like whoops. Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
So all of everyone, every one of us who has
had practiced as a child shooting darts, like you know,
the the rubber ones right, Like, is.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
That what it is? Because it has to stick on
to the mic as far as I know, Yeah, I
don't know. I don't know exactly all works. But oh,
they were showing it. I saw it on the news
and I was like, well, that's that's pretty cool. I'd
never heard or seen that before.

Yeah, that's amazing. Okay, now I'm going to go look
this up. I love technology, and that could be used
for a lot of different things.

That's why it's so good that your dad was a
police chief. I don't know if people knew that.

I know Jimmy's dad was a police chief until Jimmy
decided to take us into the woods with this witch
named Carol where we did a seance and got arrested.
