About a bang about a bang whoo. All right, So,
topic that came up recently is the reunion of Adam
(00:51):
Thielen and the Minnesota Vikings. Is there another topic that
brings more conversation or more speculation than coming home stories.
When Minnesota Vikings traded for Ricky Rubio, it was all
about Ricky Rubio coming home. When Kevin Garnett was traded
(01:14):
back to the Minnesota Timberwolves, it was all about Kevin
Garnett coming home. Well, the conversation is starting again because
according to Diana Russini and some other guy named Jacob
Auer Football on Twitter Jacob Robinson, that is one of
(01:35):
their eight receiver trades that should happen is the Minnesota
Vikings trading for former player and current Panthers wide receiver
Adam Thelen, and here's what they had to write about it.
They said, Vikings ad Adam Thelen sending the Panthers a
conditional twenty twenty six to sixth round pick. The thirty
(01:57):
four year old who's expected to practice this week, would
returned to his native Minnesota and to a franchise he
didn't intend to leave. Back in purple and gold. He
can man the slot position for Kevin o'connos offense. But
this feels like the Panthers doing the Vikings and my
fantasy team a favor, you know, analyzing this situation, this
(02:19):
would me in the literal sense, Adam Feeling coming home
because he's from Minnesota and he grew up wearing on
Randy Moss jersey or Chris Carter jersey, one of those two.
But he grew up as a Minnesota Vikings fan. And
it's fun to watch Adam Feeling in the purple colors
(02:39):
because not only was a Minnesota Vikings fan, but he
was a massive underdog. This guy was an undrafted free
agent that the Vikings brought on as a special teams
guy and then he becomes wide receiver one or wide
receiver two. But to the point where Stefan Diggs wanted
to leave the Vikings, and he admitted this because Adam
(03:00):
Feelin was considered receiver one on the Minnesota Vikings roster
next to Stefan Diggs. So Adam Feeling should the Minnesota
Vikings pursue him. Well, we all love Adam Deeln. He's
thirty four years old. I'm sure he still has a
few decent catches or games left at him. But he
(03:22):
has only played in three of the Panthers seven games
this season because of a hamstring injury. And in those
three games, he has eight catches for one hundred and
nine yards and he's been targeted twelve times. So in
the games he's played, he's been targeted four times per game,
and he has eight catches in three games, which is
(03:42):
about two to three catches a game in a Panthers
uniform this season. He also has one touchdown catch this year.
Last year he did receive for one thousand yards. He
played in all seventeen games, he was targeted one hundred
and thirty seven times, one hundred three catches for over
one thousand yards. Now you have to consider the source.
(04:04):
Adam Thielen was really the only capable wide receiver on
their team. Bryce Young really had nobody else to throw
the ball to except for Adam Thielen, and they're basically
trailing in every single game last year. So Adam Thielen
was really the only available option to Bryce Young, and
throwing the ball was really the only viable option the
(04:25):
Carolina Panthers had last year because they sucked. So should
the Minnesota Vikings pursue Adam Thieln, Sure, why not? But
I think we do need to consider the role that
Adam Thielen would be playing on the Minnesota Vikings. I
don't even know if Adam Thielen would be wide receiver
(04:47):
three on the Minnesota Vikings this year because Jalen Naylor
has been playing some good ball and he is a
talented wide receiver who's finally stayed healthy for the first
time in his career. He's played in six games, he
started three of those because of the Jordan Addison injury,
and he has twelve catches. He has two hundred and
(05:10):
thirteen yards three touchdowns. He's a touchdown machine. For the
first few weeks of the season, He's scored a touchdown
against the Giants. He's scoring a touchdown. I think it
was the first three weeks of the year, and I
think since then he hasn't scored a touchdown because Jordan
Addison reassumed his role as wide receiver two in that
pushed Jalen Naylor down to wide receiver three. But at
(05:32):
this point in their careers, Jalen Naylor twenty five years
old Adam Thieln thirty four years old, I think Jalen
Naylor is more valuable than Adam Thieln at this point.
He's more athletic, he's reliable, he's speedy, and he can catch.
I mean, if Jordan Andison wasn't on this team, Jalen
(05:53):
Naylor would be a more than capable wide receiver two,
and he's got to be one of the top wide
receiver threes in this league. You approved it the first
few weeks of the season, so it would be fun
to have Adam Thielen back in a Minnesota Vikings uniform.
Do I think it could happen? Maybe? I don't know.
I don't know what's going on in the Minnesota Vikings
locker room. I don't know if they're really considering trading
(06:14):
for Adam Thielen. You gotta consider the contract number. You
gotta consider so many more things, but it would be fun.
I would get excited or aroused by the Minnesota Vikings
bringing back Adam Thielen, who they drafted. He's from Minnesota,
and you know, for the first time, maybe in the
(06:36):
history of sports, a player would literally be coming home
to his original state, and that would be pretty cool.
