Speaker 1 (00:06):
It's an exciting day because it's Jake's Takes day and
when Jake comes on, you just don't know what kind
of take is going to deliver.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
And right now we are checking.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Updating refreshing school closings because this could really impact Jake today.
Jake is a member of a school in Minnesota. Starts
with an L, ends with a D, and the middle
letters are itch feel, So you can kind of pull

(00:45):
that together however you want to pull that together. And Jacob,
just to take a look, there's a big snowstorm in Minnesota.
In case you're listening out of state. I'm looking at
the school closings via my Fox Now and there's a
couple of two hours late Glenko, Silver Lake. That's kind

(01:06):
of in your territory. Yeah, it's not bad, Wilmer, They're
like in your territory.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Oh yeah, Ally already is. Yes, she's got nothing to
do today. She's gonna, I didn't even know, take a nap,
maybe take another nap.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
So far, got some two hours late.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
The craze kind of a little further west than us.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
The key is is to see the schools near you,
and for right now, you have to know your schools
like tendency. You know players in the NFL coaches, they
have tendencies. Schools have tendencies on snow days. For example,

(01:50):
Watertown mayre classic right now two hours late.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
It could change, it could shift, but right now they're
two hours late. That's classic. Watertown Mayor.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
The school with the same name in it, Mayor Lutheran
ten minutes away closed. That is a Watertown mayor tendency.
That happened when I went to school there, Watertown Mayor
two hours late. Get your butts to school less than
ten minutes away.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Mayor Lutheran has mayor in the name closed for the day.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah, under Lendon's bios two and they're closed. Squirrelled down.
I saw a tragic one in there. Hold on, I
gotta remember what school. I'll scro down a little bit. Okay,
where did it go?

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Look at West Central Area Breakfast.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Well, it's a killer.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I just got an email. Oh still Town hard Litsville
publish schools will be closed for the day.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Wow, w o man, let's go Glinchfield.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Well, Jacob, you I think you gave it away. Which
school you go to? Now?

Speaker 3 (03:09):
That's okay, But the question is will there be breakfast.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Breakfast? Is it an E learning day for lcha? I
don't see it updated here, Come on, Lichfield.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
We just got the email and the text it did
say e learning.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
So what does that E learning day look for you? You know?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
So, I don't know if you remember the controversy, right,
So the controversy this is I don't remember how man
years ago it would.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Be COVID season. Yeah, well yes we did a lot
of that's when started.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Yeah, but just the idea of turning snow days into
E learning days, right, and everyone is like, this is
let the kids be the kids.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
But at the end of the year, right, is that
where you're going with this?

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Huh are you going with at the end of the year,
then you don't have to make days up?

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Well, right, So that they complain about let the kids
be the kids, and they don't get it's like, well,
you know, you have to hit a minimum requirement of days.
You know, most schools build in an extra day or
two into their schedule, so they don't like one scenario
they don't have to make up, but multiple like there's
things you got to do. I mean, think about it.

(04:20):
Do you think we're asking the kids to you know,
do a lot on an e learning day. I mean,
let's be real, so like ours. I mean I didn't
look at it what the other ones did, because they
quit send down emails and say, hey, you know there
might be an e learning day. Quick prepare something for
tomorrow in case they can send home today that they

(04:40):
could do at home if there's an learning day. And
I was like, well, I got you know, our test
was yesterday. I was, you know, the plan today was
to like look at people's projects, which, you know, whatever
that's fun, but not anything that you can really make up.
So we were sitting in thirteen colleagues and I said,
all right, assignment is and that was on the task.

(05:01):
The assignment is to on a sheet of paper, draw
the thirteen colonies without tracing, and the most beautiful, well
drawn labeled map brought back to me get some sort
of price.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Now, all right?

Speaker 3 (05:16):
But will I ever see any of them? Or is
it a requirement? Here's a question for those listening. I
was shaking my head.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
No, do teachers look forward to closed days as much
as students do, probably more.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
No, I'm just kidding. I don't know. I mean, it
depends when it is. Probably in whatever I mean today,
like it was gonna be a pretty easy day for
my class in terms of like it's kind of fun
to watch because they made videos and like some of
the videos are actually pretty funny. So like I enjoyed that,
and the kids enjoy watching themselves be ridiculous on the
big TV. But so today I went to mind it

(05:56):
going in. But it just kind of depends on the
day and the age kid too.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I mean, I don't know, on a typical day, how
long does it take you to get to school? Me
to get to school, Yeah, it's like two three minutes.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
So on a day like today, maybe you could have
been there.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
You could have you could have you could have backpacked there,
you would have been dedicated. Let's just say this, if
you couldn't get the cause is your snow bowl?

Speaker 2 (06:25):
You got your snowblower working now? Right?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
No? I never actually said I never got it going.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
OK.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Let's just say that there was this massive snowblower that
went past your driveway. And because that happens if you
just got done shoveling your driveway, three snow three three
snow cars what they call snowplows. Thank you, three snowplows

(06:52):
come past your driveway in Unison and block you in
classic blockage.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
You can't get your car out of the driveway. Do
you walk?

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Do you hitch a backpack and throw things in your
bag and do your best to get to school via
two legs?

Speaker 3 (07:16):
I think you're doubting the power of the hot Civic.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Mmm, but that's a part of the hypothetical. You can't
get the Honda Civic out of the.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Drive through it and see what happens.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Well, yeah, truck, now right, you're your truck.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, probably what I could find.
I could probably hitchhike with somebody. Yeah, in the neighborhood.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
How would it take you to walk to school?

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Oh, I've done that before.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Okay, so this isn't some unknown territory.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Maybe ten minutes.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I probably will actually go into school today and grab
some stuff, because.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Look at you, still dedicated to the game.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Normally that would not be something I would ever do.
But again, yesterday was test day, and so I have
a lot of test de grade and then a lot
of projects degrade as well because they're all due yesterday.
So just for the sake of so it doesn't linger
into Christmas break it might try to finish all that.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Sure, that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
We'll see how bored I get today.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Okay, well that snow day talk.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Let me refresh the Fox nine and see if Lichfield's
on there yet, because it's a big deal. It's very
exciting Fox nine. Nothing yet, all right, come on Fox nine,
get your act together, all.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Right, Minnesota Vikings Talk.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Fox.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I'm a big Fox nine guy. Ian Leonard, Randy Meyer,
Casey Carlson. You can't beat those guys. Are your CARO eleven?

Speaker 3 (08:40):
I don't want any Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Ian Leonard's nine thirty weather cast is sensational stuff. As
long as Randy is there. As long as Randy is there,
those guys two they feed off each other and they
have like this back and forth the rants, and it's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Away Minnesota Vikings Talk.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Kirk Cousins benched in Atlanta for rookie quarterback Michael Pennix Junior.
And I talked a little bit about this yesterday when
his benching happened.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
I couldn't not.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Think about the report that came out after Michael Pennix
Junior was drafted about Kirk and his agent and how
shell shocked they were.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
That they drafted a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Because as soon as that happens, if you're a quarterback
that goes to a franchise, you're thinking, all great, Now
the fan base and the organization, all their investment and
excitement is going to surround the circreat quarterback. And as
soon as I play poorly, well, then that guy is
going to get the nod over me. And that's a
fair thought as a player. And what makes it really

(09:55):
burn for Kirk Cousins going back to the draft, was
that he left the Minnesota Vikings, one because of the
big contract, but two he knew that they wanted to
invest in a rookie quarterback. So who wants to be
a veteran presence that you know, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers
type guy to the Jordan Love or Aaron Rodgers to

(10:18):
JJ McCarthy or whoever the rookie quarterback.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Was going to be when that's all the fans want
to talk about. So he leaves fair enough, Well, they
draft a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Anyway, he gets sideswiped and just completely smashed and now
he's benched. Your take Jake's take on the benching of
Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Well, everyone made the obvious joke. It's not about the benching,
but what the benching represents. Yeah, this would be the
the third time he said he wanted to retire with
a team that it probably won't happen, although I'll be honest,
I don't know who if he wants to be a starter.
You know, I don't know who is trading for him.
You know, they cut him. It's like sixty five million

(11:00):
d cap, right, I think like thirty something if they
trade him, I don't know, whatever, it's a lot. Maybe
the Falcons are geniuses for drafting the eighth over old
pick or whatever it was and drafting a quarterback or
tenth or I don't.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Remember what Michael looks right now or well, they also
paid Kirk Cousins the bank, which is not.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
No one.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
The one point I heard that I think is a
good point potentially. You know, we're not Falcons insiders. But
you know, free agency happens before the draft by a
good margin, right, something like six weeks for four to
six weeks whatever it is. And it makes you wonder
did they sign him based on you know, talking to

(11:46):
him and all this thing, and then they maybe got
him in the building, worked out with him some more,
you know, got their strength training with him, and then
I want you know, it makes you wonder if they went, oh, boy,
like his his you know, his leg is he's not
as mobile as he used to be, which he wasn't
mobile that much to begin with anyway. His arm is

(12:08):
not throwing fastballs the way he used to.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
How do you not have that concern when a guy's
thirty six years old having a ruptured achilles.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Of course, I'm sure they did have the concerns and
maybe test it out okay when they did the medicals.
But again, once you actually have the guy in their
day and day out, more workouts and whatever, you know,
he makes you wonder if they were like, yep, he's
not you know, he's not going to last three years.
We got to replace as soon as possible. You know.
When they signed him, I would imagine maybe their plan

(12:36):
was not to draft a quarterback. But wonder, if hey,
he's not going to be the guy for three years,
he's not going to get it done. I don't know,
it's Kirk Cousins has one of the weirdest careers of
all time because he was an overqualified mediocre quarterback, but

(12:58):
never an elite quarterback. Kind of always was like in
that little window of like good enough that you can
compete sort of but not really right and it's just
you know, good leader and guy and all those things.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
But is the Jeff Fisher of NFL quarterbacks?

Speaker 3 (13:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:17):
And Jeff Fisher almost every single year with the Rams
and maybe it would occasionally have a good season where
they made the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
But is the Jeff Fisher of NFL quarterbacks?

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Yeah? Or maybe even like I don't know, the career
stats would be interesting off the top of my head,
like kind of like if Eli Manning didn't make two
Super Bowl runs, you know, like because even he didn't
if I remember, I think those the only playoff games
he ever won were in those two seasons. Wow for
Eli if I remember, right, or it's very close to that,

(13:49):
you know. And but we think of Eli as like
this guy that is in that tier because he had
those two magical runs. It's like, well, if he didn't
do that, he was also kind of just every year,
you know, competitive keeps your team in it, but not
necessarily elite. I don't know, but that's there's nothing wrong
with that. I mean, the Vikings have kind of that's

(14:10):
kind of been their mo for like, you know, thirty years.
It's like, we're never going to bottom out. We always
have a competitive team. You know, there's nothing wrong with that.
It keeps fans involved and keeps fans invested.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Right, do you did you see what Michael Pennix Junior
was doing when he got the call that he was
going to be QB one Moving forward?

Speaker 3 (14:30):
I did not actually know.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
I'll give you some options.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Option number one was he getting ice cream at the
local dairy queen?

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Hmm?

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Option number two was he getting a hot dog at Costco?
Option number three was he getting fries at McDonald's. Option
number four was he getting car side to go at Applebee's.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Okay, let's break down a few things. One, Yeah, dairy
queen is most you know, it's national, but it's it's
definitely centralized in the Midwest. That again, it's national, but
like the like the higher number of dairy Queen's are

(15:20):
in the Midwest.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
You bring up a good point.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
I don't know when the last time I saw like
a dairy queen television commercial.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Yeah, they exist, but yeah, it's on you know, right
like Burger King who's just like trying to kill everybody
with ads. Yeah, is always on, but even Culver's appear anyway,
He's always on. They have ads all the time to
items like so I'm gonna rull out dairy queen because
there probably is some in Atlanta. But I would guess
that's not like a big deal.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Car side.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
I mean, if if it's that, that's incredible.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
It's a professional athlete.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
You know you want to stay hidden underneath the scene, right,
do you really want to walk in front of the
public eye.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
You know it's an option.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
And then Costco or McDonald's. My thought is, if I
remember correctly, I think in the United States, number one
is Subway for how many restaurants there are. Number two
is McDonald's. So I'm just gonna play the number for
some reason, that's a lot of fast food information. But
I'm gonna play the odds and say, McDonald's.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
That is not right. I will give you another option.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
What did you not give? Oh?

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Sorry, I meant another chance to.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
I thought you're giving me a fifth guess which was
actually the correct one. I'm like a game.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
It was not McDonald's fries.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
It was not okay, But then I'm gonna go with Costco.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
It was Costco. He is getting a hot dog at Costco?
How many people do you think recognize them and bother him?

Speaker 2 (16:57):
In Atlanta?

Speaker 1 (16:58):
You probably blend in a little bit if you're Michael
Pennis Junior. So you know, from that regard, he might
not have gotten recognized.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
There's just so many people, I think, people in general,
especially him, football players in general, Like I would imagine
they get identified a lot less than you would think,
other than like the elite ones, right, Like there's guys
that you know, like every if you saw Justin Jefferson
walking on the street, you'd be like, Wow, it's Justin Jefferson.
But if you're at Costco and Brian O'Neil walked by,

(17:31):
like how confident would you be like, Oh, you wouldn't
be like, oh, that's Brian O'Neil. You'd probably be like.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
That's a big guy.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
That's a big guy. Is that Brian O'Neill. It kind
of looks like right, And so I feel like Pennis again,
because you know they have the helmets on. He's not
been there for very long. I would imagine he could
go to Costco still and very few people would recognize them.
I'm sure some people do, but not like you know,
if Taylor Swift walked into Costco, nobody would you know.

(18:00):
It'd be over everyone Mobner. But I think Michael Pennix
can have a normal life so far anyway.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
We'll see if he wins the next three games and
gets the Falcons into playoffs contention. Well, they're in playoff contention,
but gets them into the playoffs over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
If he can go silent into the night at Costco.
Probably not all right.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
As far as Minnesota Vikings topics go, the Vikings defeated
the Bears thirty to twelve.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
And maybe you can help me out with something here.
I'm struggling. They put up.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Thirty points on the Bears, or earlier in the year
they put up thirty points on the Bears.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
I think it's thirty seven.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Or yeah, I think it was twenty seven to twenty four.
For every Sin it's thirty to twenty seven, same same
point total. Yep, I guess the Arizona Cardinals they put
up twenty three. This was one of the highest point
totals of the season for the Minnesota Vikings. They put
up forty two on Atlanta, thirty on the Bears, thirty
on the Bears, thirty one on Green Bay, and thirty

(19:04):
four on Houston. So this is like top five scoring
this season for the Vikings. But what I'm confused by
is that Donald's numbers twenty four for forty two hundred
and thirty one yards, one touchdown, one interception wasn't quite
as crisp as he's been missed a few throws here
and there where.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
It's like, okay, you were hitting on that one.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Quarterback rating of seventy four point one QBR forty eight point.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Five, but you have the Vikings still put up thirty points.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
The offense was not as crisp looking as it had been.
Donald was not clicking on all cylinders. It was just
missing guys. Yeah, they still put up thirty points. As
an offensive minded coach, as an offensive guru of the
Litchfield Dragons Middle school team.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Give us some insights. How did they put up thirty points?

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Well, I mean short field right, the first touchdown the
game was off the turnover. Well, they but scored after
the turnover. Right, you get the couple sack funnel for
the short field point. That always helps. I mean, we
had a couple of rushing touchdown. I think we rushed
the ball pretty well. I don't remember our total, but
Akers looked pretty good and Jones had a good game,
so you know, they did what they need to do.
The other thing is the Bears are bad. Yeah, it's

(20:25):
pretty bad at defense, so it's they were able to hit.
You know, Jefferson was fine, Addison was fine. You know,
he just kind of spread the ball. Hocketson did okay
to just gotta spread the ball around. I don't know.
I mean that it's just kind of one of those
games where you're playing an inferior opponent and you don't
need to go out and throw for five hundred yards

(20:46):
to beat them. You just got to not make you know, basically,
not make huge mistakes that keep them in the game.
And that's mostly what the Vikings kind of did. They
just kind of controlled things rather than taking the huge
shots or you know, risk he plays stuff like that,
they just kind of moved ball on the field pretty easily,
over and over again.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Yeah. Yeah, the rushing attack. When you mentioned that, they
both scored a touchdown. Aaron Jones eighteen carries eighty six yards,
Cam Akers ten carries twenty four yards, and then there's
tight Chandler at one carry four yards. So yeah, the
rushing attack was working against the Bears, a point that
I wanted to make, and I think the Vikings are very,

(21:28):
very lucky that Sam Darnold did not sustain a long
term injury in their win versus the Bears, because I
don't know if you saw the instant replace, but there
were several times where when Donald threw the ball, his
hand hit either the offensive lineman's helmet or a defensive

(21:51):
player's hand, you know.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Trying to bat the ball down.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
And there's a couple of times where like his fingers
were bending certain directions and I there's no way you
can play a broken finger on your throwing Probably.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
No way you can do that.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
And the offhand, I think Jalen Hurts has a broken
finger on his left hand right now.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
He played on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
But you're not throwing a football with a broken index finger,
no in the NFL. So the fact that Sam Darnold
avoided long term injury despite his hand hitting multiple offensive
lineman and defensive lineman in that football game was very
very lucky and something that I think needs to be

(22:31):
brought up.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Yeah, I mean I remember it happening once forture. But yeah,
that that that's the kind of thing that is. I mean,
it's just unlucky, I guess would probably be the main word. Right,
you can follow through with that pass and if there's
a defender in the vicinity. You know, helmets are not
exactly soft, right, No, I wonder I wonder you know
that the Guardian, Right, some of the guys that were

(22:54):
in a Guardian.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Now like the big the big, the big like one.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Yeah, I mean it's literally it's just kind of like
foam essentially, is all. It is like an inch or
so of foam that just a little case. And I
will mean because like we were them in practice for
like the high school and stuff, so in middle school
at Lichfield and a lot of schools do now too.
But you know, people are always worried about the Guardians

(23:18):
of like, oh they look well, they look bulky. They're
gonna be so inconvenient. I mean, they're like so thin
and light. I mean they weigh a couple of ounces,
so it's more visually they do look kind of funky
because like also their head goes from normal to like
but anyway, yeah, no, I mean they're certainly. It's how
fragile a season can be, right, something dumb as you're

(23:41):
twelve and two and you know, a thumb hits a
helmet the wrong way and all of a sudden you
have to have Nick Mullens or uh dis Brett Rippian
or Danny Dimes or yeah, yeah, we have such I mean,
let's think about this, because they showed that graphic right
of the Vikings quarterback room, and it's again it's we've

(24:08):
talked kind of this way before, but you show a
picture of that to us in August and say, hey,
here's the quarterback room. What do you think the record is.
You know, the fact that we trade for Danny Dimes
and again like Brett Rippian and Nick Mullins and even
Sam Donald, right and twelve and two, man, with that
quarterback room, that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Yeah, it is a crazy quarterback room. And yeah, I
don't know. I mean, it is a crazy quarterback room.
But at the same time, only one of those quarterbacks
can play, so you know, I just mean.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Like Brett Rippyan has filled in in the past for
other teams and he was awful. David Dimes is awful,
you know, Donald had been awful up until this point
for the most part, you know, just more just in
like Nick Mullens is a career backup, just like well.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
When he got the quarterback whisp Kevin o'connal on her team,
it does seem like anything's possible, all right.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
I know we're Vikings fans, but who do you think
is a more worthy coach of the year? Because I
think what I don't have the odds in front of me,
but I don't think KOs is the favorite, and that
feels I know we're Vikings homers, but I don't know
how you could argue based on what going into the season,

(25:25):
what expectations were, and how teams have performed. Are you
the coach of the year if you do what everyone
like wanted you to do? I don't know, I mean
make coach.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Of the year.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Odds Kevin O'Connell has declined a number one via Fox Sports. Okay,
O'Connor's number one at plus one ten bet ten dollars
to win twenty one.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Number two on the.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
List Dan Campbell plus two fifty, number three, Sean Payton
plus three fifty, number four, Dan Quinn at plus five
fifty and Mike Tomlin is number five at plus twelve hundred.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
This is where is dan quinin Washington? Yes, okay, yeah,
so I mean it mainly comes out to Lions Vikings
And what your argument is, do you want the guy
who is doing what everyone thought they would do or
the guy who was expected to win five games? It's
currently twelve and two.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Do you think the Vikings get the number one seed?
I mean, both teams control their own destiny. So as
much as everyone wants to say the Bikers control their
own destiny, well, the Lions control their own destiny too.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
End they would get it obviously.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Right either team. Both teams control their own destiny. Whoever
wins that Week eighteen game of the season as long
as both teams are undefeated to that point. Honestly, the
Vikings Packers game scares me more than the Vikings Lions
game right now?

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Yeah, in two weeks.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
I don't remember. I think our schedule. I mean, the
Seahawks aren't amazing, but their playoff team at the moment
Gino's dinged up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Are the Seahawks playoff team right now?

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Did they fall out with the loss?

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Now?

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Yeah, the Rams took them over, so they dropped out.
You're right. Yeah, they went from division leader to alson
out of the playoffs. But they're playoff competitive, we'll say that.
And Gino's old dinged up, so I mean you'd think
and then there are two running backs are both tinged up,
so you hope that should be somewhat easy. But going
to Seattle and blah blah blah, and never exactly they

(27:31):
go there every year and Louise but so that, you
know whatever. But then, yeah, Packers Lions. I mean that's
two intense playoff divisional rival you know, playoff atmosphere kind
of divisional rival games. I think if I remember, I
don't remember the Lions schedule, but I think it's a

(27:52):
little easier because this week even they got the Bears.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
Yeah, and then I think they did they play San
Fran already to play them already when I look it up.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
Yeah, they got the Bears today.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
And then Sant Fran and Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
In San Francisco by week seventeen. Might be out of it,
you know, if they.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Don't, they might be out of it right now, right right, they're.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Right, so they might be. They're I mean, they're not amazing.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
They're not officially eliminated yet, but yeah, they have to win.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
They're six and eight and the Rams and Seahawks are
eight and six.

Speaker 3 (28:23):
So yeah, it's over. Yeah. So the point is to say,
the odds of the Lions are, you know, two to
zero going into week eighteen, and we might be one
and one again. That Packer game and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Talent, it's a little bit more challenging, a little bit
more challenging, but less take from me and from you
unless you have something else I'll talk about. I saw
a tweet the other day from someone that will go nameless,
and it was an annoying tweet. It was a from

(28:58):
a media member and they're talking about how we should
just be satisfied with the Viking season. And I get
where they're coming from. I get the heart posture. I
understand the idea. They don't want to nitpick the Viking
season because the whole idea of like, oh, we're never
supposed to be in this place in the first place,

(29:18):
so like, guys just appreciate where they're at and let's
just enjoy this season for what it is. Because there
I look at this season, I see it as like
an outlier's super Bowl. Last season where you know, Sam
Donold's playing the best football of his career. He's playing
like Nick Foles was for the Eagles when they win
the Super Bowl. And now the Vikings have shifted expectations

(29:38):
towards being super Bowl contenders. So I want to just
be satisfied with where the Vikings are at. I don't
want to just oh, well, we made the playoffs this year,
like that's cool, you know, like, hey, you know what,
look at us?

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Yep, who cares.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
It's an opportunity.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
It's an opportunity, right anymen.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Expectations change it. And again, that doesn't mean you can't
say both during the moment and after the season say wow,
like that was better than we expected. We're happy with
how the season went. That was fun to watch, like
even though we lost in the first round or second round,
like that was a good season. But that doesn't mean
we can't be right, raise expectations or whatever. I mean,

(30:16):
it's I think the Timberls are a perfect example. Last year,
right before the season, you're like, I think they're gonna
be pretty good, like they should be a top kind
of four or five seed. They hadn't done it yet,
you know, and then they spend eighty five ninety percent
of the season is the one seed in the West, right,
and then they end up with the three seater or
and expectations changed right sudden. You're like, okay, this team

(30:39):
is a competitive playoff team. Let's see how they do well.
After you beat you sweep the Suns, and then you
beat the Nuggets in seven games, like suddenly your expectations
are not m Well, let's just show up against the
MAVs and hope Like, no, right, the expectation now is
you need to beat the MAVs. You are better than
the MAVs. You're playing better the Mats at the moment.

(31:01):
Then it's you know, very disappointing that they were so
bad in that series. But then again, after the season,
you could say, yeah, that was better than we expected.
That was fun, that was you know, awesome to watch,
blah blah blah blah blah. But yeah, expectations changed. Samon
Vikings like, yeah, if they were five and you know whatever,
six and eight, you'd say, Okay, that's kind of what
we expected, like let's just finish strong and but what no,

(31:24):
you're twelve to two. Expectations change if you, I mean,
if this team doesn't win a playoff game, and that's
the one seed. That's a little different because they have
to buy. But if you don't win that first round game,
if you don't you know, if we're the five seed
and we have to go to Atlanta or go to
you know, the Rams or whatever, and you lose in
the first round, that's a disappointment. Based on how this
season has gone, that'll be a disappointment. So you can

(31:48):
still say it was great. You can still say Sam
Darnold was awesome to watch, the renaissance, Aaron Jones having
a great year as a thirty year old running back,
Addison's breaking out, Jefferson being the stud, Hockinson come back healthy,
all these things that were fun to watch. You know,
at the end of the day, if you lose the
first round, it's a disappointment based on how this regular

(32:08):
season played out.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Mm hm for sure, Well, thank you. That's a good take.
That's a jake take right there. That's delivered.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
As far as Minnesota closings go. Still don't see Litchfield
on this list. And I did a little digging because
I'm an investigative journalist. I am the James O'Keeffe of
school closures and Watertown Mayor still delayed two hours, Wellconia

(32:37):
two hours, Sandwich between the Watertown and Maconia mayor. Lutheran closed.
Of course, Litchfield not on this list yet, but you
can receive the email, so hopefully it was not someone
just trying to pull your leg a little bit.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Your classic dassic ocado closed. Yep.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
And here's where I did the investigative journalism, going.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Back to.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
The West Central Area schools. Breakfast will not be served.
What a slap in the face. I look at that
and I say, who are the West Central Area schools?
And it came across as Barrett, Minnesota. So Barrett, Minnesota

(33:30):
is right along the I ninety four corridor, which says,
you know, this orm was like passing right through Barrett
population of three hundred and seventy five, elevation of one
and fifty eight. So if there's a tsunami in California,
I think Barrett, Minnesota will be safe. You look at

(33:54):
the map on Barrett, Minnesota, and here's where I got
the I ninety corridor. There's Barrett West Central Area schools.
It looks like they have a nice campground nearby. Is
zoom Ount there's ninety four, there's Barrett. I don't know
if the snowstorm just hopped over bear it. But if

(34:18):
I was a student and I found out that breakfast
wasn't going to be served, and I high tailed my butt.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
To school, I would be so pissed off.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
You know, you grab a quick you wake up, you
think school's clothes, you don't, you run your butt to school.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
You get to school.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
And you're hungry with fresh starving no breakfast. So the
cafeteria worker can't get their butt to school.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
But I gotta get my butt to school to learn
about English.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
My goodness, I feel really bad for the Barrett, Minnesota
school district right now, for those kids that I have
to hop on that bus and high tail it to school.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
This is an unfair it's this is unfair. It is unfair.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
Very I never actually knew where West Central was because
they're in our section, or they were it used to be.
Now they're in the They went down a size, so
like they were in our basketball section. Another in single
A class. Now it's a two way, but that's way
the heck west. I mean, I think it was like
two three hours west of us. Yeah, so I never
actually kne.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
Where it was.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
But there you go, Bearrett, Barrett, this guts screwed form
and they do feel bad for him, and they're just
saw the Fergus Falls. Fergust Falls was on this list.
It's closed. Fergus Falls Public schools closed.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
So they can't even go to Fergus for breakfast. They have.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Let's just hope that their lunch is open my goodness.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
Yeah right, yeah yeah, brown bag lunch only, bring your
own lunch.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
No buses, ride your bike to school. Maple Lake District.
Two hours late, no am pre school. That's kind of
in your territory a little bit.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
Yeah, a little bit. Yeah, Kimball too, I saw. I
think there's only two hours at the moment. Wow, they're
around here. M Eaton Valley two is around here. I
saw hunches two hours late only so far.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Mh.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
I'm on Bill Cheetah, cancel school. He's the athletic director.
I don't know if you can cancel school as the
athletic director.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Okay, Bill Cheetah, is that what he said?

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Yeah, he's the idiot Hutch.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
Oh wow, just sounds like Tuesday. We played Hutch on Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Oh look at that. Oh, Jake thank you for.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
Is that I said we did not win.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
Sounds like a tough matchup.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
Yeah, it's usually is well, Jake, thanks.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
For your takes, Thank you for your for your consistency,
for your deliverance.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Yeah, it was kind of nice to have a Thursday
morning pot again that it was a routine last year,
this year up and down.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Yeah, it's been like Sunday afternoons following the game, or
like a Tuesday morning, Thursday morning. We've just kind of
been sprinkling it around a little bit, keeping the listeners
on their toes.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
Yeah, all right, everyone, thank you for listening and for
watching it. Do's describe about wherever you're watching or listening.
Appreciate you
