Speaker 1 (00:00):
I love it. Great music, good friends. I'm so glad
we're all hanging out together. Plus, we love to celebrate
and salute Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana teachers. It's just a
cool thing to do. You know a teacher that you love.
It could be passed or present with our friends who
visit Florida, we give them two hundred and fifty dollars
they qualify for this epic trip. I'll tell you about
it all right, But right now I'm calling a teacher.
She's with District eighty four. Her name is Essie Jones.
(00:24):
She has no idea she there, Jim, she has no
idea Why I am calling boo ss Yes Hi, it's
Melissa Forman from ninety three point nine LINEFM. Melissa, how
are you today? I'm great? Thank you good? Okay. I
know this is crazy. I call teachers randomly out of
the blue, but I wanted to explain what's going on.
(00:45):
We do this thing every Friday. It's called a teacher
salute where we honor Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana teachers. And
we got an email about you from Julie Viola. Yeah,
she want to know what she says about you? I
know I want to know yet. Okay, So obviously Julie
is another teacher, which is even more meaningful because for
(01:07):
someone to reach out not about themselves but about another
teacher is pretty amazing, she said. Essie's an amazing teacher
with an overwhelming amount of experience and expertise. For over
forty years, she's been shaping the minds of Chicago Public
School students, as well as our fellow teachers, and as
well as those here in Franklin Park. We call her
the student whisper. Yeah, the student whisper, she said, student whisper,
(01:32):
but they usually say child whisper. Oh, child whisper, right,
she said, which pretty much says it all. I can't
think of anyone more deserving than Essie Jones. Oh my god,
that's nice. So I guess you have a way with
those kids, huh, those students. You know what. I can't
even describe it, you know, I just talk to kids
(01:54):
and meet them where they are, and you know, try
to listen to them when they's be's listening to and
some times they need talking to. Yeah, but all out
of love, all out of love. Even when I'm being stern,
it's still aut of Low. Yeah, well, I just wanted
to let you know that you S. C. Jones from
(02:14):
District eighty four are this week's teachers. Salve my god. Exciting,
so oh my goodness. Oh, I'm so glad. You're so moved.
I couldn't wait to talk to you. I really couldn't
because Julie was so excited about you. She's like, she's
about yes. So yeah, you get from our friends that
(02:35):
visit Florida. You get two hundred and fifty dollars yea,
which is awesome, and you're now qualified. We do this.

teacher a month we'll get to go with us this summer.
